BLITZ WEEK JUNE 12-16


Must be signed up for 4-H in order to participate in Blitz Week activities.
To register go to: Idaho.4honline.com and make a profile. You must come into the office to pay 4-H dues and also to sign up for Blitz Week classes. We are unable to hold spots over the phone do to limited availability.

“Where’s the Beef?”

Come learn the cuts of beef, how to buy them, how to prepare them and enjoy them at Blitz Week June 12- 15 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. in the Extension Basement Kitchen
$15 each--for Intermediate and Senior 4-H’ers (11 yrs and up)
Limited space in this project—12 Participants

 
Hunting- June 12-13 from 1-4 P.M. Cost $10.00 Ages 8 and up. Limit 15 participants. Learn all about how to identify animals plus other great hands on activities.

·         Track identification
·         Call identification
·         Scat identification
·         Skull identification
·         On-hands activities

Photo Safari- Come join us for a great time and go home with fantastic keepsakes. Cost is 10.00 Ages 8 and up. June 14-15 from 1-4 P.M. Limit 15 participants
·         Digital Camera (bring your own)
·         Digital Camera Basics
·         Photo Treasure Hunt
·         Printing and setting up an album
·         Framing prints


Wired for Wind (S.T.E.M.)- For those youth who enjoy science this camp is for you! June 14-15 from 9 A.M.- 12:00 P.M. Cost 10.00 Ages 8 and up. Limit 15 Participants.
·         Design & Build a Wind Turbine
·         Experiment with different blade pitches to see how it affects the wind turbine’s rotor speed and performance
·         Identify the best location using data, maps and social and environmental considerations

 Rockets to the Rescue- Blast off! Have fun crafting and blasting off your own stomp rocket! June 12-13 from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 for ages 8 and up. Limit 15 participants. Cost is $10.00
·         Design and build an aerodynamic Food Transportation Device (FTD)
·         Design and build a stomp rocket
·         Develop a basic understanding of aerospace engineering through hands-on activities


Dutch Oven Cooking –For the whole family to enjoy! $10.00 per person. This is an evening camp from 6-9P.M. June 12-15th Come learn and fill your belly with some delicious treats!
·         How to season, clean and care for your dutch oven
·         Learn different ways to use/cook with your dutch oven
·         Start a recipe file
·         Side dishes, main dishes, breads, soups & desserts

Air pistol/Rifle Basic Shooting- All day Friday June 16 from 9A.M.-3 P.M. Bring a sack lunch. For ages 8 and up. For those who want to test their aim we have a fun-filled day of shooting sports! Limit 15 participants.
·         Fun activities
·         Acknowledgement of Risk and Waiver of Liability Parent/Guardian Permission Slip Required.


Aprons: Beginning Sewing


Learn how to sew 2 aprons from start to finish. Measure from a pattern and create your own custom look. We will have kits available to choose from the first day of class. June 12-15 1-4 P.M. Cost is $20.00 this class is for beginners. If you are in the sewing club we recommend choosing the advance sewing class offered. Limit 12 participants.
 


Zip Sweatshirt: Intermediate/Advanced Sewing


This class is for our advanced sewing participants. It is required that you have taken at least one previous 4-H sewing course in order to participant in this class. Advance your knowledge of sewing by learning how to insert a zipper and put in pockets. Fleece material will be used. We will have kits available to choose from the first day of class. Limit 12 participants Cost is $25.00

Animal Nutrition 101

Friday May 12th,there will be a presentation about basic animal nutrition and it will be discussing multiple species. Earl Cole will be speaking. This presentation will be from 6-7 P.M. at the Extension office. Youth may count this as one 4-H meeting.
